Definition of corona grid

corona grid

1.  Screen-like device or grid of wires located between the charge corona wire and drum surface to improve the corona's charge.

More Information:
The corona grid's primary purpose is to control the polarity and/or output of a corona discharge, therefore improving the charge applied to the drum. The polarity is chosen based on whether the process is positive or negative. The positive process produces black on white copies. The negative process produces black on white output from negative originals, such as digital printing/copying and microfilm.
