Definition of CSU

CSU
1.  An acronym for contact sensor unit. Optical scanning unit containing light source (LED array), focusing rod, cover glass, self focusing lens, and device for converting optical image into electrical signals, which are sent to the modem. Also known as CIS (contact image sensor).
